LAKESIS® – The extract of “tears of Chios” is obtained from the resin of the mastic tree. Lakesis activity is aimed at stimulating the expression of proteins responsible for stress resistance, cellular detoxification and DNA repair. This enhances the regenerative potential of the skin, improves collagen synthesis and helps restore its density and elasticity. It is because of a decrease in estrogen that the skin loses volume and “sags”. By promoting an increase in the synthesis of collagen types I and III, Lakesis works as a lipofilling asset, restoring the density and clarity of the facial contour.
The extract is rich in polyphenols that neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS). The expression of inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α) is suppressed, which helps reduce chronic inflammation (“inflammaging”). Collagen degradation is reduced by inhibiting the activity of metalloproteinases (MMP-1, MMP-9). The balance between the synthesis and degradation of proteins is maintained in the dermis.
Lakesis actively stimulates the production of the “youth proteins” Klotho and FoxO, responsible for prolonging the life of cells and their resistance to stress. Klotho is a transmembrane and circulating protein that regulates antioxidant pathways, prolonging the viability of fibroblast cells. Its activation reduces the level of oxidative stress, inhibits premature aging and apoptosis of dermal cells. FoxO is a transcription factor that triggers the expression of antioxidant defense genes (catalase, superoxide dismutase) and DNA repair. In the skin, this means protecting fibroblasts and keratinocytes from damage by free radicals and UV radiation. Dermal cells retain metabolic activity longer, continue to synthesize structural proteins (collagen I, III, elastin, fibrillin). The collagen and elastin framework is strengthened, the density and elasticity of the skin increases due to the stimulation of the synthesis of fibrillin-1 and collagen in dermal fibroblasts.
LAPAGYL™ – Lapacho tree bark extract (“tree of life”) The extract is rich in naphthoquinones (lapachol, beta-lapachone), polyphenols and flavonoids – molecules with a pronounced bioregulatory and antioxidant effect. Lapagyl helps maintain telomere stability due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect (reducing oxidative stress and inflammation, which prolongs the life cycle of epidermal cells). This maintains the skin’s potential for renewal and slows down the formation of age-related changes.
With age, skin cells enter a state of senescence (do not divide, but secrete inflammatory factors → SASP).
The active components of Lapagyl™ modulate the signaling pathways, which reduces the accumulation of “aging” cells, stimulates the division of still functional fibroblasts, and reduces the release of proinflammatory cytokines by senescent cells. As a result, the “biological age” of the tissue decreases, and cells retain their ability to renew themselves longer. Lapagyl is active in the fight against aging and skin damage caused by UV radiation: it reduces the expression of reactive oxygen species (ROS), protects the cells of the basal and spinous layers from damage, has an anti-inflammatory effect.
SOLINE® – ceramide booster, a fraction of unsaponifiable sunflower lipids, especially rich in essential linoleic acid. Linoleic acid is metabolized into anti-inflammatory lipid mediators, the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in keratinocytes is reduced, irritation and erythema are reduced. Linoleic acid is an essential substrate for the enzyme ceramide synthase (CerS). Under the influence of Soline®, ceramide synthesis in keratinocytes is activated.
The level of EOS and NP ceramides, key for the formation of lipid layers of the stratum corneum, increases. As a result, the lamellar structure of intercellular lipids is restored. Ceramides + cholesterol + free fatty acids form the “cement” that holds corneocytes together. With sufficient levels, transepidermal water loss decreases, barrier function increases, and skin becomes less sensitive to irritants. Histologically: more compact stratum corneum, fewer microcracks and lipid layer disorders.
VITAMIN COMPLEX: VITAMIN E + VITAMIN C – The lipophilic form of vitamin C together with vitamin E provides a long-term neutralizing effect against free radicals, protects cell membranes and enhances collagen synthesis, improving skin elasticity and density.
Vitamin E catches lipophilic free radicals (peroxide chain reactions in membranes). Vitamin C reduces the level of ROS, and is also able to regenerate oxidized vitamin E, returning its antioxidant activity. The skin receives a “double shield” from oxidative stress (UV, pollutants).
Vitamin C is a cofactor of the enzymes prolyl and lysyl hydroxylase, which stabilize the triple helix of collagen. Without a sufficient level of Vit C, collagen fibers are formed defective.
Vitamin E protects fibroblast membranes from peroxidation, maintaining their functionality. Together they provide higher quality collagen, slowing down the destruction of the dermal framework.
